Restored Antique Meat Slicers

Timeless Antiques Artisanally Restored

The hand crank meat slicer dates back to the late 1800’s when W.A. Van Berkel crafted the perfect solution for the every day butcher. With an increased demand of cured meats, butchers worked 14+ hour days hand slicing meat with 16” knives. Berkel’s patented meat slicer ingeniously allowed butchers to increase production but still maintain razor sharp precision.

Over 100 years later, the hand crank meat slicer remains the ultimate tool for the slicing of the finest cured meats. All our restored antique slicers are brought back to life through a thorough artisanal restoration performed by master restorers in Northern Italy. Metal pieces are either hand polished, chrome, or nickel plated, maintaining era correct practices. The slicer bodies are painted and include hand painted pinstriping details. Mechanically, the slicers are brought back to new condition ensuring that these classics perform as good as they look. Our restored antique slicers are the ultimate combination of form and function.

Although most people think of Berkel and their American division, US Slicing Machine Co., our antique slicer offerings include lesser known brands including American Slicing Company, Computing Scale Company, and Continental. All slicers operate using the same basic design, yet, each have their own identity making them special in their own way.
